Salutations dear cook-ers and lookers!
I’m back, with a celebratory giveaway of Wicklow-grown organic CBD. Yup. I’m morphing into Willie Wonka mode (actually, probably closer to Steve Irwin) and making some magical CBD chocolates for y’all this week.
Amy and Fergus of Ethos have given me 3 CBD giftboxes to giveaway in celebration of my Substack anniversary and ALL YOU GORGEOUS FOLLOWERS (thank you Fergus and Amy!) I would not, could not, continue without you reading, subscribing, enjoying and celebrating this little space on Substack. I’m so grateful to each and every one of you, especially to my paid subs whose support continues to sponsor my time and my work.

Ethos Balance CBD oil contains peppermint to cleverly mask the strong taste of CBD, as well as the stress-soothing adaptogen ashwaghanda. I’ve had quite the year, and have been taking Balance CBD oil through the more intense stress storms raining down upon me. I’m currently caressing the bottle like a lost kitten at a stranger’s leg. CBD is not something I take all the time, but I find it helpful during the maelstroms or when my sleep is suffering.
For a chance to win, all you have to do to is drop a sentence below in the comment section, including the word “balance”. (Only paid subscribers have access to drop comments, dear readers, so if you haven’t yet joined Taking the Hell out of Healthy, today might be the perfect time!)
Winners will be chosen at random, with the help of my youngest son Marty! There are 3 Ethos gift boxes to giveaway. International shipping no problem! Here’s a peek …
Remind me. What is CBD?
The cannabis medical space has dramatically strengthened over the last decade. Cannabidiol oil (CBD for short) is one such product enjoying positive media attention and over-the-counter market space. As you doubtless know by now, CBD does not make you high. Sorry. That’s it’s cousin, THC. CBD is one of over a 100 different cannabinoids found in the hemp plant, and is non-psychoactive.
CBD fans argue that it helps to relieve pain, inflammation, depression, anxiety, sleep disorders and stress – an impressive portfolio of plaudits for a stress-fueled world.
So far, meta analyses are still being conducted and collected. But you’re welcome to jump down that research lane starting with the consumer branch of Harvard Medical School. For example, childhood epilepsy syndromes, such as Dravet syndrome, are often recommended CBD to reduce seizures, and is long approved by the FDA.
